The Gift by Cecelia Ahern. Yeap that's the book that I've read and the content of the stories was pretty good. It's not a typical love stories between 2 teenagers who are in love and live happily ever after. This book is more about family, life, appreciation and time. It is all about time management. Time is precious, they say but do we really practice what we preach? I don't think so. Anw, this is a story about Lou, who don't have a time with his family and he chose work over his family. Sad but that's Lou. A man who have a career mind and always busy with his work and everyone loves him because he is smart, got a lot of deals but he failed one thing, his family. One day, he met a homeless guy along the office building, Gabe, that's his name. He was a nice guy and Lou liked him. Lou offered Gabe a job as a mailer. Gabe is a mysterious guy. He did his job well. Fast but mysterious. Lou got to know that he lived at one of the room at the basement of the whole building.
Lou doesn't get along with his own family not even with his daughter, his dad, mom, siblings etc. He only cared and concerned about his career and to make profits for his company. Gabe, introuduce Lou pills which cloned Lou. First Lou, always wanted to be by his family while the second Lou always wanted to rush for work. So what happened was that, he's been cloned. He only took one time and he realized that, he felt so left out when there's family gathering. How much he missed everyone in the family. He never felt so good being around with his family. His wife and children especially.
There's one night, his last night, he confronted Gabe and asking him who is he? Whatever Gabe said to him, I find it true. I find it, yes, you deserved your family more that your career. It's all bout time management. Lou met an accident after the confrontation with Gabe and decided to take the pill, (Lou found out that the pill that he took was just a headache pills and that is why, Lou confronted Gabe), the first Lou died on the spot while the second Lou came home and he made a quick and a last chit chat with his children. He told them to take care of their mom, siblings and take care of themselves when he will be elsewhere, far away from them. He even told them, that no matter how far he go, he will still in their mind and heart watching them from far. He told that to his wife and the next morning, he's gone. Forever. To enter into another world. And the police, can't locate Gabe and left as a mysterious guy.
For what I learnt from this book is to appreciate someone close to you. Your family, your friends, your spouse, husband, boyfriend, girlfriend, everyone. Time is precious and it is precious than gold. Every seconds wasted, and that's it. You don't know when will be your last day. Walt Disney said, "Don't neglect your family just for business" Spend your time wisely. Make everyone loves you. Love everyone. Know your priorities before it's too late. Let me quote this from the book, "Time can't be given. But it can be shared."
It is all bout time management and how you spend it.
